What is Somatic Resilience?

Greg has integrated his training as both a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and integrative psychotherapist to create a programme that supports mental and physical sustainability in environments of high stress.  Somatic Resilience™ focuses on addressing and resolving trauma or stress related symptoms by creating safe spaces, encouraging active listening and empathic responses, and engaging the body’s natural self-regulating mechanisms through felt sense awareness. By means of education and experiential exercises, we encourage the safe exploration of stress-related sensation through the language of the body and the mind, recognising that stress and trauma symptomology are largely physical but do also require a level of cognitive understanding and the support of safe others. By acknowledging and paying attention to these physical sensations, in an environment of safety, one can allow the symptoms to resolve and help build resilience to future stressors.

This training has been presented both in the UK and abroad with a diverse range of participants ranging from asylum seekers and refugees, to charitable organisations, social workers and mental health service providers. In the context of other cultures, where traditions often involve a holistic approach to well-being, Somatic Resilience can be seen as a way to honour the body's wisdom in the healing process. It aligns with the belief that healing involves not only addressing the mind but also acknowledging the profound connection between the physical and spiritual aspects of oneself.

Who is this training for?
The training can be customised to any environment where chronic stress and burnout are being experienced. We welcome all organisations, corporate or otherwise, big and small to get in touch.

If you are unsure whether your organisation would benefit from the Somatic Resilience Programmes then get in touch and we can discuss your needs.
